Essential Kitchen Hacks
Here are 12 Kitchen Hacks that will help you get better organized, save time, and make your life easier; these tricks change everything.
1- Determine the island's function
Form follows function. If you want to cook and eat on kitchen islands, plan enough space so the cooktop is safely separated from the dining area.
2- Arrange the range
Place a shelf within range to keep cooking oils, utensils, and spices handy. Place S-hooks on the side of the range hood to hang frequently used pots and pans.
3- Easily recycle
Equip a cabinet with separate containers for glass, plastic, and metal. A spare drawer can store old newspapers.
4- For the young ones
Put your children’s favorite dishes and snack foods on shelves they can reach.
5- Message center
Add a message center near the kitchen telephone. Put a bulletin board, chalkboard, or whiteboard on the wall. Also store a calendar, notebook, pens, and pencils in a nearby drawer.
6- Use light colors in a small kitchen
Dark color schemes shrink an already small space and make it less inviting. Use soft shades on kitchen cabinets and natural light to visually expand a small room.
7- Freeze wine
Freeze wine in ice cube trays and store them in the freezer, this will save you from having to open a whole bottle every time a recipe calls for some wine.
8- Use a scale for baking
There are two reasons to use a precise scale when baking: accuracy and efficiency.
9- Store greens and herbs with paper towels
Line the bottom of your refrigerator drawer with paper towels, they’ll absorb the excess moisture that causes your veggies to rot.
10- Make sure eggs are fresh
Place your egg in a glass of water. Fresh eggs sink; bad ones float.
11- Don’t waste lemons
Slicing your lemon in half for just a few drops will dry it out quickly. Instead, puncture the lemon and squeeze out exactly what you require.
12- Repel bugs
A bay leaf slipped into a container of flour, pasta, or rice will help repel bugs.
